Admiring the cotton like blanket of clouds covering the sky, she kept thinking about the last week. Her life changed in the blink of an eye. It feels like yesterday when she was in the city, happily celebrating her seventh birthday with her parents and friends. But now, as her parents separated, she had to move to the country side with her mother. She misses everything and specially her father. She was raised like a princess, but now is being bullied by her new classmates. Going to school haunts her and she doesn't like the idea of adding on more worries to her mother's life. The little girl sobs and fights everyday, she's too weak to end the 'game of entertainment' (bullying) all by herself.
When the rain drops start making its way towards earth, with a sigh and weak smile she asks her mother "Can I skip school today?".

Cute story
ReplyDeleteSad & innocent. Hope she fights her bullies & triumphs over the storm in her life...
ReplyDeleteshe'll soon learn to :)
DeleteI like your idea of projecting the story, crimson curls. She should really tell her mother instead of carrying suffering the way she is.
ReplyDeleteshe's a sensitive 7 year old, she doesn't know what's right for her at the moment.
DeleteHi Crimson curls, an award waits for you here :)

thanks a lot Aathira :) :D
DeleteAs soon as I noticed your name ‘Crimson curls’ on someone else’s blog, a slight grin appeared on my face unknowingly to see the name and immediately my curiosity started to itch. The itch made me visit this place to see whether what this blog is about. I came in here for a little peeping but as soon as I started to read, I became speechless for I was greeted by such a mesmerising tale of a little one. It has squeezed out all the feelings of a thoughtful child. The narration made me imagine even the expressions on the face of the child while saying "Can I skip school today?". :)
ReplyDeletethanks a lot! I completely remember the day when I decided to go by a pen name, and out of nowhere Crimson Curls popped in my mind. Since that day I started blogging and actually writing what earlier used to fade away as my brain's fantasies. Your comment is a confidence boost for me ! :) :D
DeleteDear Crimson Curls,
ReplyDeleteA beautifully sad tale you have crafted here. The new kid in school is either loved or hated, it seems there is no in between. Hopefully, Mom will read between the lines and say, "Yes." - Russell

even if her Mom says 'yes'...skipping school daily isn't n option :/ !
DeleteDear Crimson curls, I wish I could intervene on the behalf of the little girl. Divorce is one of the hardest things a little girl can go through and when she has to move away from her established home, she runs into bullies. How dreadful for her! I hope her mother realizes her situation. Good, thought-provoking piece. Nan :)
ReplyDeletethanks :) !
DeleteDear Crimson Curls,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Friday Fictioneers. It goes without saying that divorce is hardest on children. Well thought out and conveyed.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Crimson Curls, Welcome to Friday Fictioneers! This is a well-written story. I know what the child is going through. My parents didn't divorce, but we moved from the city neighborhood where I was born out into the coutry when I was nine. I had no friends in the country who lived nearby and I was lonely. Well done. :) ---Susan
ReplyDeleteInspiring article.. :)
